Purposeful Inattention is Unconscious Attention

The scope of one's attention can vary from the entire unified field to a narrow focus on a particular arbitrarily bounded fragment of the whole. If attention is conscious then one shifts the scope as the situation requires. A natural ordered balance is prevalent with a natural balanced awareness of total being.

Unfortunately we often have shocks and hurts which cause us to unnaturally fragment our consciousness. PTSD type phenomenon cause us to habitually recall an event or image until numbness sets in. Numbness to a arbitrarily bounded fragment of the whole creates an artificial block to the awareness of it. As we grow through life we collect many fragments which we habitually avoid. Suddenly who we are is defined by what we are not habitually avoiding.

No matter how we avoid a particular fragment of the whole we are still equipped to perceive the whole. We always perceive All. By fragmenting attention we create a situation where the awareness of these fragments burrows deep into our being and acts as a cancer.

We must stand and face each and every fragment until it dissolves into the whole and the unbalanced energy will integrate into equilibrium.

In time a calm attentive state of being will be achieved with the benefit of awareness of all around scenario.
